Birds Glass Sculptures by Penttinen

Anu Penttinen's individual glass birds continue the world-famous Iittala Birds story which started in 1973 with Oiva Toikka's Sieppo figures and 2007 featured birds designed by the Italian Giorgio Vigna. The vision of each artist is brought to life through the glassblowwing handcraft of Nuutajärvi's glass factory.

Penttinen's endearing glass birds have been inspired in particular by wax animation and the nature of the tropics.
